The Character: Jane Bennett

I'm going to start spotlightling individual characters out of Jane Austen's books. Here's the first, one of my favorites, Jane Bennett.

Jane is soft spoken, kind, gentle, and always thinks the best of people. She is considered the prettiest of the sisters by their mother, who also told Mr. Bingly that she had the lovliest deamenor. When someone misuses her she always tries to justify them and never speaks ill of anyone. I think that she probably has a hard position in her famliy. For after all her Mother is continually trying to marry her off and she must keep her self respect amond a famliy who is utterly silly and ignorant. She is always the one who takes care of her mother and is always at her beck and call. She dearly loves Elizabeth who is the only sensible person in her famliy and is the only one she ever opens up to. For she is shy and does not show what she is feeling, though Charlotte Lucas thinks that she should. But in the end Jane gets her reward despite the efforts of Miss Bingly and Mrs. Hurst and marries their brother and lives comfortably ever after.
